tangled up in lilac

I've been untangling for hours.

I think I need a swift.

  1. I have a skein of Schaefer Anne that took me the better part of a week, and now I want nothing to do with it. I don't have a swift, either, but I think the skein was Evil and it wouldn't have made a difference. (Why can't cheap yarn tangle? Huh??)

  2. I had a moment like that which pushed me into swift ownership. And I haven't looked back. Seriously, the best $40 0r $50 I've spent on knitting stuff.

  4. Sorry about that happening, but perhaps you might want to consider THIS before going off to buy a swift...seeing that there are bound to be Legos at your place.

  5. Amy: a WEEK?! Wow, I was feeling sorry for myself after six hours! I can see why you'd want to take a break from the yarn after that.

Nell: Welcome! Yeah, I'm thinking it'll be worth the money.

Elemm: Definitely. Don't you think that Lego thing looks a tad flimsy, though? I'll try it, but just in case: can you tell me the German word for a swift, so I can check on ebay?

  6. alalala ( I'm singing Running to stand still now for days just btw) I recently got my swift (haspel or Schirmhaspel in German) from www.woolina.de or com 40 Euro were sooooo worth it! Plus so much easier to skein my yarn before dyeing now :)
